COLD WELD REPAIR OF A STRESS CORROSION CRACKED

BOILER DRUM

Abstract

In the paper, serious damage of power boiler drums in one chemical plant has been considered. Due to damage rate, the boilers shut-down and the replacement of all the affected drums were considered as inapplicable. Thus, a repair of damaged drums was required. In the first part of this paper, detailed description of boiler damages has been shown and analysed.
