Abstract

Research presented here deals with the behaviour of heterogeneous welded joints, made of steels with very different mechanical properties, especially in terms of plasticity. This stage of the research includes experimental tensile tests with digital image correlation as a means of monitoring the deformation of specimens, and numerical simulations that are based on these results, where good agreement is shown. Due to the notable importance of heterogeneous welded joints in practical applications, this analysis continues to further develop, focusing on welded joints with defects.
