Abstract In this paper, functionally graded rotating disc with material properties such as modulus of elasticity, coefficient of thermal expansion and density are varied in the radial direction. The material properties under consideration are taken in power law form. The temperature variation in the radial direction is considered in both linear and quadratic form. The solution is obtained in closed form. Numerical discussion and graphical representation are done for two temperature profiles and the results are compared with the already established results. It is shown that the disc having quadratic temperature profile is better than the disc where the temperature is varying linearly.
