Abstract

The non-destructive testing method for quantitative examination of imperfections in the coating layers deposited by Electric Arc Spraying, is presented, designed to identify the location and the size of the lack of adhesion imperfections situated at the interface between the base material and coating layer deposited by thermal spraying. In the experimental programme, a special set of calibres, achieved by thermal spray deposition, is used. A factorial experiment is carried out to determine the optimal parameters in order to obtain a controlled thickness of the deposited layer, useful for calibres.
