CATHODIC CORROSION PROTECTION OF POWER PLANT EQUIPMENT

Abstract

Cathodic protection of steel structures and other underground equipment (water, oil and gas pipeline systems and storage tanks) is relevant, offering additional protection of steel structures from different corrosive agents. In this way equipment service life and safety are extended. Hence, cathodic protection is advisable on all important water pipeline systems made of steel, and the installed cathodic protection equipment should be properly maintained. Long service life of water pipeline systems is then achieved.
