STRESS CORROSION

Abstract

The paper presents basic mechanisms of corrosion and stress corrosion. Transformation processes of pit to stress corrosion cracking are described in detail, and stress corrosion testing methods. Materials prone to stress corrosion in specific working conditions are considered.
