Abstract

A reliable assessment of residual life of high pressure steam lines requires defining stress state, taking into account not just effects of internal pressure and temperature but all applied loads. Hence, application of numerical methods for calculation and analysis of stress state is necessary. The paper presents possibilities and disadvantages of finite element methods in steam line stress analysis, shown in detail by an example of main steam line of thermal unit A1 of Power Plant “Nikola Tesla.”
