Abstract

Review and basic properties of new and general approach to standardization and technical adjustment of pressure equipment (Pressure Equipment Directive – PED) have been presented. Attention has been paid to the PED sections related to the structural integrity, i.e. to essential safety requirements, calculations and design, and in particular, pressure testing of strength.

In the second part, conditions and possibilities of PED application in our country are considered.
