Abstract

A general approach to structural integrity assessment using fracture mechanics is presented. Linear elastic and elastic-plastic problems are analyzed, including a possibility to apply corresponding fracture mechanics parameters. Two examples of pressure vessels integrity assessment are given, one using Failure Assessment Diagramme, and the other one using the J integral.
